How it works

Spot long, every listed order fills. Fees are paid in quote currency on top of buys; selling deducts the same rate. No leverage, funding, slippage or price forecast.

How the DCA Bot Calculator works

This DCA bot calculator plans a spot-long safety-order ladder. It shows each order price and quote value, cumulative capital, quantity-weighted average entry, fee-adjusted break-even and the exit required for your desired net return. It assumes every listed buy fills; it does not forecast whether the market will reach them.

Safety-order spacing and capital

The base order buys at the initial entry. Safety order k sits below entry by the cumulative deviation d × (1 + s + … + s^(k−1)), where d is the first deviation and s the step multiplier. Its quote value is first safety-order value × volume multiplier^(k−1). A step multiplier of 1 produces equal gaps; a volume multiplier of 1 produces equal quote values.

Example: buy 100 of quote currency at price 100, then another 100 at price 90. You acquire 1 + 100/90 = 2.111111 units, so the average is 200/2.111111 = 94.736842, not 95. With no fees, a 1% net return requires an exit at 95.684211 and gives 2 of profit. This is a one-safety-order scenario with a 10% deviation.

Fees and take-profit after each fill

Order values exclude buy fees. Fees are paid separately in quote currency, so required capital = sum of order values × (1 + fee). Break-even = required capital ÷ [total quantity × (1 − sell fee)]. Target = break-even × (1 + desired net return). The table recalculates these figures after each fill; its last row is the maximum-capital scenario.

A venue that deducts buy fees in base tokens will produce different quantities. The model excludes leverage, funding, order rounding, partial fills, spread and slippage. It rejects ladders whose cumulative deviation reaches 100% or whose numbers overflow. For purchases at arbitrary prices rather than a planned bot ladder, use average down. FAQ

Is this recurring monthly DCA?

This page models price-triggered bot safety orders. Regular time-based purchases require the actual prices of each purchase, which can be evaluated in the average-down calculator.

Does a lower average entry guarantee recovery?

No. The table is conditional on fills and a later exit at the target. Price can keep falling after every safety order is used, leaving all allocated capital exposed.

Why can a volume multiplier require so much capital?

Order values grow geometrically. Doubling successive safety orders quickly increases the sum committed. The maximum capital includes every planned order and its buy fee.
